PostSubject: 50 CENT RAISES THE STAKES, "I WANT TO TOP 'GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN'"   Mon May 30, 2011 9:45 pm

G-Unit leader 50 Cent has upped the ante with his long-awaited follow-up to 2009's Before I Self Destruct by promising to make it better than his 2003 solo album debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin'.

Writing on Twitter, Fif said the yearlong delay was due to his aim for perfection.
"Iv been working I'm recording a lot for this album. I'm gonna keep recording cause I want to top get rich or die trying.," he tweeted May 29th.
"You can be mad cause you have to wait but you will be happy when it comes. I want it to be perfect." (50 Cent's Twitter)
Last week, 50 appeared on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" to speak on his upcoming LP.
"I finished my new album now," he revealed to television talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. "I'm actually one song away from being done. I'm mixing the record. I'm excited...This summer [the fans] will have new music from me." (Rap-Up)
Earlier this month, rapper Soulja Boy Tell Em revealed his involvement on the project.
"We were in California [last month] and 50 played his whole album, what he got so far," Soulja said in an interview. "He was asking me for some beats, so I played some beats, gave him some beats. He's got some tight beats from me too. I left him like five beats in California and he's been recording on them...That's true. He has some soul and he has people singin' the different hooks...But he's smart though. It's still 50, but it's on another level now. You know where he comes from...His album was kinda dope. I ain't gonna lie to you. That's my big bro and all that. I got love for him. He's got some good stuff on there." (Rap-Up)
After promising to release the album's first single last month, 50 later had a change of heart.
"I tweeted something about the actual single," 50 explained in an interview. "While I'm out here, I gotta meeting and I gotta sit with Jimmy [Iovine], I gotta sit with the guys that push the button. I've done it by myself on my other albums because I've got my own radio staff, and I work the record, then get it to 500 hundred spins and then let them kick in. But I think it's better if I go with the entire building and have everybody on deck so they understand my plans for this project." (MTV)
